Resume

As the national election in Zimbabwe approaches, the civic space of Zimbabwe is increasingly under pressure. In the regime’s attempt to suppress any opposition, young civil society actors constantly face constraints in their operations. With this follow-up intervention we build on our work of capacitating youth-led organisations and CSOs to operate in a shrinking civic space context. We do this by strengthening their knowledge of democratic rights; by empowering them with digital skills and media literacy; and by supporting the youth at risk of violations with psycho-social and legal services. The main activities include trainings in civic rights, participatory action learning programme on the digital space and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. The intervention targets youth-led organisations across Harare, Bulawayo and Mutare and is carried out in a close partnership between Dreamtown, Justice for Children and The Centre for Innovation and Technology.
