Resume

The intervention targets irregular migration and youth development in The Gambia with diverse approaches, aiming to fortify local leadership, foster intergenerational collaboration, and involve communities in addressing root causes, including dispelling misinformation and social pressure. Key activities include a leadership academy for capacity building, grassroots engagement via intergenerational dialogue meetings and community events, advocacy towards policymakers and the public through media campaigns, and forming strategic partnerships with local and national duty bearers. Additionally, leveraging the positive impact of sports, the intervention integrates football activities to promote teamwork and social cohesion among youth, contributing to their overall well-being and resilience. These efforts aim to empower YAIM members, enhance community resilience, and drive systemic changes to tackle the root causes of irregular migration while advancing youth development.
