Resume

Building on Heñói’s long standing Native and Traditional Seeds Network in Paraguay (SN), and the capabilities gained thanks to the NOAH-Heñói project Sharing seeds for food sovereignty, the main purpose of the intervention is to empower Small-Scale Food Producers’ (SSFPs) resilience to climate change’s and agribusiness’ damaging impacts by strengthening their native seeds production. Serving the general aim of ensuring the right to food sovereignty and a dignified, healthy and safe living environment for Paraguay’s rural population. Through the promotion of the SN and its phone app, with special focus on youth, the intervention contributes to rooting of youth in their territories, which improves the resilience of peasant families and revalue rural life. Popular engagement and active citizenship for youth and SSFPs in general is strengthened by gaining knowledge of their rights and by carrying out research-based advocacy.
