This intervention aims at changing the narrative and reality for one of the most fragile and vulnerable groups of people in Ghana - adolescent mothers. Many adolescent mothers in Ghana are caught in a vicious cycle of dropping out of school, social stigmatisation, increased health issues, low or no income and often become single mothers. This makes them vulnerable in seeking financial help from older men in the community, who will take advantage of their vulnerability. Sunyani and the Bono Region in Ghana is notoriously known for gender-based violence and stigmatisation, which highlights the urgent need to support and empower this group in society. Our solution is to create an urban safe-space where we provide entrepreneurial training and community support for adolescent mothers to create a livelihood for themselves and each other.
