The overall goal of the intervention is to empower Honduran youth to become active citizens who believe in democracy as a tool for a better future. To this end the intervention will work with youth organizations and strategic partnerships to achieve both immediate gains and sustainable structures for the improvement of the conditions and participation of youth. First, the intervention will contribute to strengthen organizing, capacity, and network strategies of youth organizations and platforms for youth empowerment and advocacy. Second, the intervention will provide vulnerable youth with knowledge and opportunities for democratic participation as well as introducing bills to improve the conditions of youth. Third, the intervention will actively monitor parliamentarians to hold them accountable. The intervention will leave behind strengthened and viable youth organizations, opportunities for youth participation in decision-making processes and monitoring systems of key duty-bearers.
