Resume

The project aims at building the absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacity of Chimanimani's community and the local authorities to withstand and deal with climatic shocks and stressors. The intervention will enhance climate resilience among 1,000 small-holder farmers and their families by implementing peer learning to promote climate-smart agriculture and sustainable natural resource management and facilitating market linkages to enhance their income security. Through a community-based approach, the intervention will increase knowledge and understanding of climate change adaptation among community members and duty bearers, strengthen their capacity to respond to extreme weather events and integrate local climate-resilience strategies into subnational and national development policies. Finally, the project will facilitate evidence-based advocacy and cross-learning among the district's stakeholders, and disseminate best practices in climate adaptation strategies.
