This intervention is a continuation of three previously CISU-funded interventions focusing on HIV/AIDS among sex workers and customers in Sierra Leone. We have extracted valid test data on HIV/AIDS prevalence among these groups and in efforts to influence national and international health authorities we take our intervention to the next step. This intervention seeks to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS by focusing on duty bearers and mobilising 12 local communities in network groups to advocate for action taken by health authorities. The intervention will establish 12 network groups in Freetown, Bo and Makeni in an attempt to put further pressure on health authorities and take active part in awareness raising through a series of events and campaigns in the three cities selected. Health authorities are invited to participate in activities and campaigns utilizing both local partner NGOs and newly established network groups to add further incentive for cooperation and responsibility taken.
