Reduced new infections and improved quality of life of PLHIV in ITT
Immediate targets
1. By July 2017, community structures are effectively disseminating HIV/AIDS knowledge within local communities 2. By July 2017, there is increased commitment by duty bearers to ensure access to HIV testing and health services 3. By July 2017, IWAWA is able to sustain its work with reducing new infections and improving quality of life for PLHIV in ITT
Target groups
The primary target group include members of 16 support groups (10-20 in each) for people living with HIV. About 50 % of these will be women. The project will reach out to 950 households affected by HIV/AIDS and 450 not yet affected. 11450 people will be reached by testing outreaches and 6.500 will receive testing and counseling at the IWAWA clinic.

Projektet vil skabe bæredygtighed for den zambianske organization, IWAWA og udfase samarbejdet med AIDS-Fondet. Gennem kapacitetsopbygning og træning indenfor hiv og aids vil projektet gøre IWAWA i stand til at skabe varige samarbejder med statslige og ikke-statslige organisationer. Dermed vil IWAWA bidrage til god behandling af hiv-positive, spredning af viden om hiv samt bekæmpelse af stigma og diskrimination i Itezhi-Tezhi området I det central Zambia, hvor behovet for støtte til at begrænse hiv-epidemien er stort.
