Overall targets

To facilitate an empowered and peaceful youth population in Zimbabwe that constructively and peacefully participates in the country’s governance, policy making, and development processes at all levels.

Immediate targets

1. To promote peaceful and non-violent youth participation in Zimbabwe’s upcoming July 2018 general elections and post elections processes. 2. To create space and opportunities for youth from all walks of life in Masvingo to meet and reflect on the need for peaceful political processes among and between different factions 3. To facilitate that youth issues, get into the policy agenda at both local and national levels

Target groups

'- 14 youth leaders at district level (2 per district) - 39 youth leaders at ward level (1 per ward), and - 39 youth peer mobilizers to give support to the two clusters above (1 from each ward) - Up to 5 Zimbabwe staff/volunteers - We want to reach at least 100 youth who get interested in our project per ward, this a total of 3900 youths - Up to at least 39 electoral/elected candidates representing wards, in regards to policy lobby - And through the planned radio messages reach out to at least 500,000 young people across the province of Masvingo.

Vores projekt handler om at mobilisere unge og ungdomsledere fra Zimbabwes sydøstlige provins Masvingo til at blive mere aktivt og fredeligt involveret i provinsens og landets politik og demokratiske udviklingsprocesser. Projektet kombinerer aktiviteter med kapacitetsopbygning i dialog, advocacy og mobilisering, samtidig med at der faciliteres plads til unge, ungdomsledere og andre samfundsledere til at mødes og reflektere sammen for at etablere et gensidigt inkluderende politisk miljø for alle. Dette er især vigtigt nu, hvor landet er på vej til deres første generalvalg efter en længerevarende præsidents fratrædelse, og hvor Masvingo og især de unge har en lav involvering i politiske processer og en historisk risiko for at blive offer for eller udøver af politisk vold.
