Resume

Every year more than a hundred environmental defenders are killed in Latin America fighting against destruction of the environment and local communities. Many cases are linked to companies and consumption patterns in Denmark and the Global North. The cases and killings are barely communicated and usually to a very narrow and endorsing audience. This could be different as many Danes can relate to the cases and defenders by existing engagement in local environmental struggles or by care to their community. With this project we wish to inform and engage local environmental groups and rural populations in Denmark by using communication and methods based on personal stories, existing relations and communities of interest through communication of 15 environmental defenders cases through personal meetings, targeted communication on Facebook and local newspapers moving the target groups up the engagement pyramid also offering action possibilities based on engagement level reaching 100.000.
