Resume

The purpose is to make communities in Tanahun district resilient to climate change. This will be done by building the capacity of farmer’s groups in climate resilient farming and engaging marginalised women in entrepreneur groups. Three schools will be involved in developing a model school concept with focus on school garden activities, children’s eco-clubs and teaching in climate, environment and sustainable farming. This will be used in advocacy towards Myagde Rural Municipality (MRM) to inspire them to develop a local curriculum with practical learning opportunities for children. CN will build the capacity of MRM to engage them in disseminating climate information and MRM will start running a community information centre. Farmers’ groups and female entrepreneurs will carry out advocacy activities to present their needs, local climate risks and hold MRM accountable for disseminating climate information and inform them about their obligation to develop local adaptation plans.
