Resume

This project strengthens the livelihoods, organisation, and civic voice of marginalised smallholder vegetable farmers in Akomadan, Offinso North District, Ghana. Farmers face climate variability, post-harvest losses, weak market access, and exclusion from decision-making. The project addresses these challenges by supporting the formation of a legally registered, farmer-led cooperative and building capacity in governance, climate-smart production, cooperative business management, and advocacy. Climate-resilient demonstration farms function as Farmer Field Schools, enabling practical learning, reduced losses, and improved productivity, while also generating evidence for policy dialogue. Through leadership and advocacy training, farmers engage local authorities on agricultural services, infrastructure, and market inclusion. Implemented by KITA in partnership with LOES and local institutions, the project integrates service delivery, capacity strengthening, and advocacy in line with CSP.
