Resume
This intervention is an 18-month pilot between two like-minded organizations, DUNK-Grassroots standing for Developing Unity and Nurturing Knowledge of Ghana (hereafter referred to as DUNK), and GAME of Denmark. We will empower 550 young people aged between 8 and 25 to become community contributors and leaders in two underserved slums of Accra, Ghana. This intervention uses sports as the key enabler to focus on three targets groups within three thematic focus areas: i) young people’s empowerment and health through sports and life skills (outcome 1), ii) gender focus through integrated sports and education activities (outcome 2), iii) enhancing school capacity in physical education. To ensure the success and sustainability of the intervention, this project gives transversal focus to the strengthening and support of DUNK, as defined by outcome 3.
