The overall goal of this intervention is to strengthen the sustainability of transformed public spaces within informal settlements. The strategy towards reaching the overall objective is anchored in 3 outcomes. In Outcome 1, we will strengthen the partnership between Public Space Network (PSN) and Dreamtown and outline a long-term strategy for how to make public space interventions more sustainable; in Outcome 2, we will pilot youth-led business initiatives within 3 large scale public spaces in Nairobi, testing our hypothesis that this will deepen sustainability; and in Outcome 3, we will evaluate our impact and disseminate best practices on how to make public spaces sustainable to other civil society organisations.
