SORADA and SOSDA will provide immediate life-saving food and water to 1,380 drought-affected individuals (230 households) in the remote villages of Galbarwaqo and Qalqalocan, Hobyo District, Mudug region. This rapid response addresses extreme water scarcity and IPC Phase 4 food insecurity caused by the "near-total failure" of the 2025 Deyr rains. Key activities include emergency water trucking for 12 days (15L/person/day) and the distribution of standardized food baskets (Rice, Flour, Sorghum, Cowpeas, Sugar, Salt, and Oil) to prevent starvation. The project specifically targets female-headed households and children facing 24.8% GAM rates who have lost 90% of their livestock. The intended change is to prevent mortality and provide a survival bridge during the peak Jilaal dry season through impartial lifesaving assistance. The intervention includes PSEA training for 30 community leaders and women focal points (15 per village).
