Component 1: Duty bearers and stakeholders have capacities and resources for the provision of quality education for active citizenship and sustainable development. Component 2: Established Eco-Schools have been showcased and scaled up as catalysts for active citizenship and sustainable development. Component 3: Civil society advocates for quality education and ESD.
Målgrupper
Primary traget - 120,000 school students (girls and boys) from low-income families - 925 school teachers. - 94,000 school community members, i.e. parents and other relatives of students Secondary target: - Government educational and environmental authorities and institutions at district and national level. - CSO coalitions at national and regional level - Local government institutions and politicians
Resume
The Eco-School programme in Africa seeks to promote and infuse action-based learning and student-centred methods into education in Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda and thereby improve the overall quality of education (improved retention and academic performance). The programme applies a bottom-up and right-based approach targeting schools, teachers, communities and key education duty bearers, while at the same time advocate for the integration/activation of Education for Sustainable Development and action-based learning in national curricula in Tanzania, Uganda and Uganda. In the third phase of the programme climate resilience and conservation intervention are included in the programme.
