As Ghana's elections approach in December 2024, the risk of electoral violence threatens stability and democratic integrity, especially in Northern Ghana. High youth unemployment, political marginalization, and historical grievances create a volatile environment where youth are both perpetrators and victims of violence, undermining the electoral processes and exacerbating socio-economic inequalities. To address this, HOPin Academy proposes the “Youth Empowerment for Peaceful Elections” initiative. Leveraging our expertise in policy dialogues, community engagement, and youth empowerment. This initiative aims to increase youth awareness of peaceful elections, reduce violence, and enhance youth electoral engagement, fostering a stable and democratic environment in Northern Ghana for long-term socio-economic development.
