The intervention provides anticipatory measures to reduce drought and wildfire risks in five rural Indigenous communities in Concepción, Chiquitanía. Forecasts show rising heat, variable rainfall, and drought risk with an escalating fire danger, threatening water, food, health, and safety. The project secures water through reservoirs and rainwater harvesting, establishes firebreaks, and trains and equips community brigades. Early warning systems strengthen coordination with authorities for rapid response. Vulnerable groups are prioritized and by project completion, a minimum of 1050 people will have improved access to safe water and enhanced fire safety, and communities will be demonstrably better prepared to cope with both drought and fire during the 2025 peak season.
