Resume

Kilimo Rafiki Plus is a continuation of DIB and Kijani’s project Kilimo Rafiki (KR), implemented in Bukombe and Mbogwe Districts, Geita Region. The aim of this project is to strengthen climate resilience, adaptation and livelihoods of smallholder farmers by increasing the adoption of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), improve post-harvest handling and marketing, and strengthen farmer-led advocacy. The project will empower 18 Local Champion Farmers (LCFs) and 6 Ward Agricultural Extension Officers (WAEOs) to support and mobilise 180 farmers organised into 18 Farmer Field Schools (FFSs). Farmers will improve productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and increase incomes through practical training and peer learning. LCFs and FFSs will through dialogue and evidence-based advocacy influence local government authorities to include climate change adaptation, CSA and improved extension services in its priorities.
