Asociația Femei pentru Societatea Contemporană Moldova

Asociația Femei pentru Societatea Contemporană Moldova (The Association Women for the Contemporary Society) was established on 22 November 2002 in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, as a national non-governmental and non-profit organization. It was founded by a group of professionals in law, social sciences, and civic activism with the purpose of promoting gender equality, protecting women’s rights, and encouraging their participation in public life and decision-making processes. Since its creation, the association has developed into a recognized national and regional actor actively involved in preventing and combating gender-based violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, identification, repatriation, promoting the economic empowerment, socio-economic integration and social inclusion of women especially young with focused rural area. Also supporting women’s leadership and legal education, and advocating for the alignment of Moldovan legislation with European standards on equality and human rights. Through close cooperation with public institutions, universities, and international partners such as UN Women, UNDP, the Council of Europe, and EU-funded initiatives, the Association contributes to sustainable development and to the advancement of Moldova’s European integration process.
