Founded in 2015 by San students in Windhoek, the //Ana-djeh San Trust (//AST) was created out of a deep commitment to uplift and empower San youth through education. Recognizing the challenges faced by San communities, //AST aims to inspire academic excellence while nurturing a strong sense of cultural pride and identity. By weaving traditional San values into modern education, //Ana-djeh works to build a bridge between heritage and progress—ensuring that young San learners not only succeed in the classroom but also remain rooted in the San way of knowing. Through community-driven initiatives, mentorship, and advocacy, //AST continues to stand as a beacon of hope, resilience, and transformation for the next generation of San youth leaders. This mission is made possible through the invaluable support of partner organizations such as Positive Vibes (PV) and the Women’s Leadership Centre (WLC), who stand alongside //Ana-djeh in this journey. They contribute resources, mentorship, fundraising, and capacity-building programs that amplify //AST’s impact. Whether through workshops, cultural exchange initiatives, or advocacy, their collaboration ensures that San youth are encouraged, connected, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive. Together, //Ana-djeh and its partners are shaping a future where education and identity reinforce one another, creating light for generations to come.
