CISU has representatives in various development fora in Denmark.
The primary objective is to ensure favorable conditions for active participation by civil society organisations in development cooperation.
CISU represents shared interests
Many of CISU's member organisations lack the resources or opportunity to be represented in various political and professional forums themselves. Consequently, CISU conducts some political and professional work on behalf of its member associations. Nonetheless, CISU also encourages member associations to advocate for their own political agendas whenever possible.
This is particularly pertinent for more specific political issues, such as trade or security policy. CISU's role is to advocate solely for issues that are broadly in the interest of its membership base. Nevertheless, CISU representatives may articulate viewpoints on behalf of specific member associations, to the extent feasible.
- Steering Group in Global Focus: Executive Director Jeff Bech
- Board for World's Best News: Communication Consultant Kim Jensen
- Grant Committee in Global Focus: Advisor Mette Kjærtinge has been appointed

- Steering Group in Danish Interagency Safety Network: DERF Financial Manager Bolette Kornum has been appointed
- Advisory function for Danish Refugee Council's Advisory Boards for the Diaspora Fund: Advisor Christoph Lodemann has been appointed.
The committees and working groups mentioned here are among the more enduring of their kind. Additionally, CISU has representatives in more ad hoc working groups.
