Somali Water and Rural Development Organisation

Somali Water and Rural Development Organisation (SWRDO) operates in rural areas of Somalia to support communities that lack access to clean and sufficient water. Many families, especially women, children, and the elderly, are forced to travel long distances every day to collect water for household use as well as for their livestock, including goats, camels, and cattle. The organisation Mission is to provide sustainable water solutions through the construction of boreholes, wells, and water reservoirs for both people and livestock. We implement solar-powered water pumping systems and install water storage tanks to ensure reliable and long-term access to clean water. Through our work, we aim to reduce the burden on vulnerable groups, improve public health, support pastoral livelihoods, and strengthen the resilience of communities in drought-affected areas of Somalia.
