Resume

Over four months, this project will support 150 Cyclone Ditwah–affected households in the Verugal Divisional Secretariat, Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka.Although losses have affected a large proportion of households in the area, the intervention will prioritise women-headed households, small-scale farmers, fisherfolk, and daily wage earners who face heightened vulnerability and reduced coping capacity. The intervention will provide targeted cash assistance to help families meet essential needs, restore livelihoods and reduce reliance on negative coping strategies such as debt and asset sales. Further, support for safe sanitation access and primary healthcare outreach will help reduce disease risks, protect vulnerable groups, and strengthen household resilience, enabling safer recovery and improved self-reliance.
