Overall targets

The project seeks to improve the living conditions of 500 Bolivian quechua indigenous people in the Municipality of Mojocoya

Immediate targets

The project will help small-scale farmers to implement sustainable agri-food systems and to develop with city consumers a direct, responsible and solidary business relationship, which seeks to improve small-scale farmers’ living conditions and economy as well as city consumers’ health.

Target groups

. The project will have an active participation of 60 indigenous women and 40 indigenous youth as change actors, as well as small-scale farmers, consumers, churchman and families as grassroots actors.

Resume

The project seeks to improve the living conditions of 500 Bolivian quechua indigenous people in the Municipality of Mojocoya. The project will help small-scale farmers to implement sustainable agri-food systems and to develop with city consumers a direct, responsible and solidary business relationship, which seeks to improve small-scale farmers’ living conditions and economy as well as city consumers’ health. It will focus on: i) knowledge dialogue, ii) field schools, iii) incorporation of eco-technologies, iv) rescue and safeguard of native crops seeds and traditional knowledge, v) advocacy to protect people’s food, health and economic rights, and secure equal access to information and decision-making processes, vi) partnership for sustainable development. The project will have an active participation of 60 indigenous women and 40 indigenous youth as change actors, as well as small-scale farmers, consumers, churchman and families as grassroots actors. Following the mandate of CISU, the project has achieved strategic alliances to strengthen the capacities of urban and rural civil society organizations, through the participation of citizens, Bolivian government, European NGOs (MISEREOR-DIALOGOS) and local NGOs (PRODECO) in decision making and project development.
