Resume

Monsoon 2025 has caused substantial damage to life, livelihoods and infrastructure, particularly in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan provinces. Implementing Partner (“IP”) rapid need assessment, primary and secondary data, meetings with communities, government representatives and NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) confirmed top 3 needs – 1) Food and Non-food items, 2) Clean drinking water including sanitation and hygiene, 3) Emergency healthcare. The IP has primarily identified worst affected districts, Buner and Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Diamer and Ghizer in Gilgit Baltistan provinces of Pakistan. These four districts are higher in claimed lives, damaged infrastructure and livelihoods of local communities. Sharing the burden with the government and other relief agencies in highly affected and difficult to reach areas is another reason of prioritizing these four districts through a well-coordinated response mechanism from all stakeholders.
