Resume

For four years, Dreamtown and Network for Active Citizens (NAC) have collaborated on strengthening young people´s resilience in informal settlements across Kampala in the context of climate change, and facilitated a Climate Vulnerability Assessment, shedding light on climate related challenges in the communities. In this in-tervention, we respond to those challenges and scale up best practices. Adaptation measures include sustain-able climate-resilient urban agriculture in response to food insecurity and development of green public spaces in response to flooding and heat. Our envisioned impact is that young people living in Kampala’s climate-vulnerable urban areas have improved their resilience towards the effects of climate change. Our strategy is anchored in 1) building the capacity of CSOs on climate adaptation; 2) supporting young people to engage in climate adaptation; and 3) advocating city authorities to prioritize climate-vulnerable communities in climate strategies and plans.
