Resume

This intervention empowers Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) to advocate for their rights, engage with decision-makers, and foster inclusion in Sierra Leone. Through evidence-based advocacy campaigns, sports activities, and community dialogues, the project raises awareness of PLWD rights and aims to influence the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). By organizing door-to-door campaigns and inclusive sports events with private companies, the intervention fosters mutual understanding and combats stigma. It also addresses the rising issue of substance abuse among PLWD, particularly Kush, through targeted prevention workshops. The project strengthens DiSNet’s capacity to lead long-term advocacy efforts and builds strong networks to ensure sustainable change for PLWD inclusion in all areas of life.
