Resume
The current intervention intends to mobilise 6500 poor and marginalised parents and children in six public schools in Devaha municipality in South West Nepal to push for increased quality education and to capacitate principals, School Management and Teachers to deliver. The intervention builds on an earlier short term intervention where quality education was brought to the agenda successfully and teachers slowly started to change their practices. In the previous intervention the local partner became more experienced and as the new decentralised system in Nepal started falling into place the organisation became an advisor to the local education department. Over the next three years the target groups will learn to facilitate their own mobilisation and information systems and to keep the duty bearers accountable. The context of the intervention is promissing as the local government system has been empowered to solve the problems of unequal accesss to education for the poor and marginalised.
