The project empowers youth and communities in underserved urban settlements in Kyrgyzstan to lead local environmental initiatives. Through training, grassroots action, and civic dialogue, the project strengthens civil society by promoting youth leadership, inclusive urban development, and cooperation between citizens and authorities. Activities include capacity-building for youth and NGOs, implementation of green infrastructure in 7 settlements, and advocacy for participatory planning. The project responds to local needs—identified through community consultations—by addressing environmental degradation, social exclusion, and weak civic participation. The expected change is stronger community ownership, greener and safer urban spaces, and improved dialogue between citizens and municipalities, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient civil society.
