Resume

The project “Protected Futures” strengthens teenage mothers in Kibera, Kenya, by transforming existing Safe Spaces into economic and social lifelines. Teenage mothers face school dropout, stigma, and economic exclusion, and they often lack organized representation and sustainable support structures. The project combines psychosocial support, vocational and business skills training, and the establishment of collective income-generating activities through peer-led Mother Circles. The aim is to build both individual resilience and self-organized community groups with a long-term economic foundation. The intervention strengthens local civil society by organizing a marginalized group, fostering ownership, and building the capacity of the local partner organization. Support for the application process will ensure strong inclusion of the target group, improved evidence and documentation, and a higher-quality proposal to the main donor.
