The project addresses the urgent and growing crisis of kush abuse among youth in Freetown—a substance with devastating social and health consequences. In response, youth-led committees will be established in eight communities to analyse local drivers of drug use and design targeted prevention initiatives. Their experiences and proposals will be shared with local leaders and national stakeholders through community dialogues, a national roundtable, and media outreach. By mobilising youth as agents of change and amplifying their voices in the drug policy space, the project aims to curb kush use, strengthen local resilience, and build safer, healthier environments for vulnerable young people.
