Resume

This intervention was inspired by experiences made by the Private Sector Working Group in the CISU-funded Devolution and Climate Change Adaptation Programme, implemented from 2019 to 2023, and will focus on empowering youth and women in Homa Bay county to adapt to climate change. Some key issues that this intervention will address include lack of knowledge on climate adaptation, and limited inclusive participation. The intervention targets horticulture and tree nursery groups, aiming to build capacity and enhance climate adaptation and business skills and establish linkages with successful peer businesses and government services while fostering dialogues with duty-bearers for inclusive participation. Quarterly public participation meetings and exhibitions bridge youth and women groups with local authorities. The intervention is expected to increase the climate resilience of 1,200 persons in Homa Bay county by directing engaging 8 youth and 12 women groups.
