Resume

This climate justice pilot is implemented in North-West Bangladesh by Africa-Asia Impact and its local partner Green Adaptation and Women Empowerment Society. It targets 100 extremely poor women from indigenous Adivasi communities in climate vulnerable villages in the Barind tract and Padma River chars. The project strengthens the women’s capacity to organize, articulate, and exercise their rights to influ-ence local climate-related decisions. It supports climate-resilient livelihoods by flood and drought-proofing homestead productions and building entrepreneurial skills. Using a participatory and experiential learning approach, the women learn about rights, responsibilities, collective action, and climate adaptation technologies. They establish networks for dialogue with local government, early warning, and collective marketing. The local partner strengthens its capacity to comply with CISU requirements and international standards.
