Resume

The Support for Application Process will enable Saving Rivers and Lakes (SR&L) and Asociación Ecológica León de Huánuco (ASOECOLEO) to jointly prepare a full proposal to Rainforest Trust for establishing a Huallaga River Conservation Corridor in Peru. The project aims to protect polluted freshwater ecosystems through community-managed and municipal conservation areas, based on scientific monitoring and mapping of heavy metals, bacteria, and other pollutants. SR&L provides expertise in GIS, remote sensing, and Copernicus satellite data (Sentinel-1 and -2), while ASOECOLEO leads community engagement and field coordination. CISU’s support will fund planning meetings, permits, field visits, and data preparation, ensuring the proposal is evidence-based, participatory, and ready for submission to Rainforest Trust by March 2026.
