Resume

The objective of the project is to strengthen inclusive civil society participation and accountability in Galkayo. The intervention will equip 60 traditional midwives from marginalized women—primarily from internally displaced and underserved communities—with certified midwifery competencies, civic education, and practical advocacy skills. By linking professional health capacity with structured community dialogue and peer-led engagement with local duty-bearers, participants will improve access to safe maternal health services while gaining the confidence and legitimacy to influence local governance processes. The project integrates capacity development, strategic service delivery, and sustainable grassroots networking to enhance women’s socio-economic resilience, expand community awareness of health rights, and foster locally anchored civil society structures consistent with Human Rights-Based Approach principles and Civil Society Fund Priorities.
