Resume

All weather forecasts predict that there will be 85% more rain than normal in the Deyr season that lasts from October to January 2023, and this will cause flooding in Baardheere municipality, here below Mintaana village. Mintaana is a small village with 800 permanent residents, while the population is sometimes 2 -3 higher. The population in the village is already very vulnerable because in the previous year drought and floods hit them hard. With this intervention, ARD will rehabilitate both water basins, make dykes that protect against flooding and make two fences against animals and people. The village will have access to clean drinking water after our intervention, while the water committee will be responsible for the administration of water and the maintenance of the water basins . 300 bags of certified seed will also be supplied to mostly 100 vulnerable HHs in the village.
