Resume

Households affected have different priorities. For some, the burden is tilted towards school-going children, whereas in some households, the primary burden is the elderly, and elsewhere, the focus is on the cumulative basic needs that are prioritised differently. Our proposed intervention on cash transfer will give the affected parties the freedom to invest in their priority areas and alleviate their situation. The psychosocial support and financial management training proposed will also assist the vulnerable communities with relevant skills, which they can apply in different areas of their lives. The cash transfer guarantees a quick and effective way for support (financial) to reach the affected population, who are yet to recover from the devastating effects of the floods. The proposed financial management training will help the beneficiaries reflect on how best they should utilize the resources that will be channeled to them.
