The overall objective is to improve social systems, resilience and livelihood of Small Holder Farmers (SHF) in semi-arid areas in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma Region, Tanzania. The long-term purpose of this intervention is to contribute in improving governance and accountability in the agricultural public sector. Further the purpose is to strengthened the civil society capacity for advocacy as well as demonstrating a need-based advocacy approach in agricultural development. The target groups are small holder farmers (SHF) and the public sector delivering services to farmers. Increasing accountability in actions to be implemented in this project include: • Capacity building of farmers to understand and effectively participate in the government planning including priority setting, budgeting and monitoring and evaluation processes. • Engage policy makers and government officials in addressing farmers’ priorities. • Conduct evidence-based advocacy actions.
