Resume

The GirlPower project aims to reduce child marriage in 10 unions of Jhenaidah, Bangladesh, by empowering adolescent girls and civil society through capacity-building, awareness, behavioural change, and advocacy for reproductive health and education. It will form 10 Adolescents Girls Clubs (AGCs) with 200 members, including 40 “Brand Ambassadors” leading campaigns. AGCs will act as watchdogs, identifying early marriages and supporting civil society in prevention. The project includes 100 awareness sessions for 5,200 students and advocacy for 5,000 civil society members, engaging 390 stakeholders. AGCs will record cases and amplify girls’ voices through "Dream Letter Boxes" to inspire action. It addresses socioeconomic barriers, improves livelihoods, and strengthens community support, mitigating COVID-19’s impact on education and healthcare. Benefiting 10,790 people, it promotes gender equality, reproductive rights, and SDG advancement.
