Resume

Our project aims to pilot a farmer-centric, scalable model for sustainable avocado and other crops farming among smallholder farmers in Busoga, Uganda. It will strengthen BAFCU’s capacity to deliver proactive extension services, focusing on climate-smart practices, quality standards, market readiness, and healthy agri-food system practices. Through a cascade training approach, the project will reach 286 farmers and over 900 households, fostering community-level knowledge sharing. Strategic data and storytelling will support advocacy for a more enabling policy environment in Uganda’s avocado value chain. Ultimately, the project seeks to boost rural incomes, resilience, & food systems while positioning BAFCU as a key driver of sustainable Agri-transformation.
