Resume

This project builds on the WOW initiative (No. 23-5034-csp-si) to strengthen the economic resilience of 60–65 female-headed households (FHHs) in Nasivanthivu and Kalkudah — two neighboring villages in Batticaloa District, Sri Lanka, with approximately 8,000 inhabitants. It continues support for 25 FHHs in Nasivanthivu and expands to Kalkudah with targeted training in technical and entrepreneurial skills (SIYB/GYB), livelihood capital support, and value addition. The project formalizes and strengthens the WOW Cooperative — a women-led enterprise platform for collective marketing, leadership, and market access. It also introduces savings groups and financial literacy to promote financial resilience. By enhancing skills, building networks, and fostering inclusive participation, the project empowers FHHs to become self-reliant economic actors. Gender equality and disability inclusion are mainstreamed to ensure equitable access and long-term social and economic inclusion.
