Resume

The objective of the intervention is to strengthen frontline communities’ and their Environmental Human Rights Defenders’ ability to conduct their work in a safe context without repression. The intervention is anchored in the federation Friends of the Earth Latin America and the Caribbean, specifically in Costa Rica, Haiti, El Salvador and Brazil. The intervention facilitates improving and systematizing mechanisms for prevention and protection of the target groups, strengthens national Human Rights observatories and by coordinated advocacy efforts contributes to holding corporations and other duty bearers accountable for rights violations. Thus, the intervention enables the target group to conduct their organizational work to claim their rights with more safety.
