Resume

The 26 August 2026 Bhotekoshi Glacial Flash Flood severely affected communities in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, damaging homes and assets and disrupting food, water, sanitation, health, electricity, and communication access. Impacts are most severe for households that lost members, homes, or possessions, and those with limited market/service access. WCN, with District Disaster Management Committees and other stakeholders, will provide emergency relief to 646 vulnerable households, approximately 2,823 individuals: 400 HHs from two holding centres in Kalika RM (Rasuwa) and Bidur Municipality (Nuwakot), and 246 HHs relocated to Kathmandu from Syafrubesi and Timure, Gosaikunda RM (both towns obliterated). Support includes emergency kitchen sets, household/hygiene items, safe water, health, lighting, and communication assistance, plus psychosocial support for survivors and relief workers, prioritizing the worst-affected households. The intervention runs from November 2026– February 2027.
