This project will strengthen young feminists and their movements across 10 African countries by strengthening leadership capacities and advocacy capabilities of the #WhatGirlsWant country cohorts. This will be done through the leadership of #WhatGirlsWant country focal points who lead ATHENA Network’s project implementation, in-country mobilization and advocacy, building on a previous CISU-funded project. The project will amplify grassroot young feminist voices in national, regional, and global policy spaces on SRHR, GBV and HIV and deepen global North-South feminist solidarity between ATHENA and WCD by strengthening our strategic partnership on advancing gender transformative global responses to HIV and SRHR. The activities include deepening work of the cohorts in 10 countries including 2 new countries, Lesotho and Uganda. Others include dissemination of knowledge between WCD and ATHENA with strategic advocacy engagement in global level and relevant regional processes.
