Resume

Guryasamo and SHiFAT (local partner) will run a 2-month emergency response in the drought-hit Toogdheer region of Somaliland, focusing on Dhoqoshay and Qoyta villages. The program will support 1,200 vulnerable people (200 households), with 60 of the most at-risk households also receiving water trucking. Priority groups include pregnant and lactating women, children, seniors, displaced families, and individuals with disabilities. The project aims to reduce hunger, improve access to safe water, protect lives, and strengthen community resilience. Activities include beneficiary selection, community mobilization, site setup, distribution, monitoring, and accountability. Villages like Dhoqoshay and Qoyta in Toogdheer face critical water shortages, crop loss, and hunger due to drought. Pregnant women, children, the elderly, displaced persons, and those with disabilities are especially at risk of malnutrition and losing their livelihoods.
