This project addresses: i) Life-threatening health problems in the aftermath of the South Sudanese conflict and flight of refugee women and families to Ethiopia in Gambella by enhancing the access to quality maternal and neonatal services in order to prevent maternal and infant mortality and; ii) Refugees urgent sanitation needs in refugee camps, through provision of materials for constructions of household latrines and community hygiene education support to local heath mobilizers. In agreement with UNHCR and the Administration of Refugee and Returnee Affairs, this intervention specifically will target one camp, Pugnido 1 for sanitation and health mobilisation activities in all 7 refugee camps with approximately 16 health facilities ( 9 health centers and 7posts) for reproductive health trainings. Pugnido 1 has a population of 64,518 refugees, where approximately 16% have access to a household latrines.
