This project will strengthen the capacities and opportunities of young people in Córdoba, particularly from rural areas and smaller localities, to participate meaningfully in environmental governance. Led locally by OAJNU with technical support from Saving Rivers & Lakes, it combines organisational capacity building, targeted youth outreach, virtual training, a three-day climate governance simulation, local action around the Suquía River and youth-led advocacy. Participants will strengthen environmental knowledge, communication, teamwork, negotiation and consensus-building skills and apply them through collective decision-making and local action. Ex-ante and ex-post measurement will assess changes in self-perceived competencies and empowerment. The project will culminate in youth recommendations and public communication on protection of the Suquía River, while leaving strengthened capacities and reusable methodologies within OAJNU.
