Resume

Six partners—Lady Mermaid Empowerment Centre (LMEC), Initiative for Mtoto wa Shule (IMS), Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum (HRAPF) in Uganda, Centre for the Development of People (CEDEP), Action Hope Malawi (AHM) in Malawi, and AIDS-Fondet (AF) in Denmark—continue their strategic partnership to advance locally-led, human rights-based sexual health and HIV protection for Key Populations: sex workers, LGBT+ persons, people who use and inject drugs, and young women and sexually exploited adolescent girls. The partners aim to dismantle healthcare, legal, and economic barriers for KPs in Uganda and Malawi, who face heightened HIV vulnerability due to criminalization and stigma. The programme strengthens civil society and community-led structures, expands KP-friendly healthcare, integrates mental health into HIV care, and challenges discriminatory laws through legal aid and advocacy. Economic empowerments provide alternative livelihoods, fostering resilience and well-being.
