Resume

Children from the Malaiyaha Tamil community in Sri Lanka's Central Province rarely have opportunities to influence decisions that affect their lives. Descendants of colonial-era plantation workers, they continue to experience systemic exclusion from services, land and decision-making. Alliance Development Trust (ADT), with Partners Denmark, will strengthen 3 community-based organisations (CBOs) as locally led civil society actors to promote meaningful child participation. The CBOs will establish 9 inclusive Children's Clubs for approximately 180 children aged 12–15, including those facing barriers due to poverty, gender, disability and social exclusion. Children will build confidence, leadership and awareness of their rights, identify community priorities, and engage with duty-bearers to influence decisions affecting their lives. 3 Community Child Protection Committees will strengthen collaboration between children, families and local authorities, creating child-responsive governance
